Whoopi Goldberg married her third husband, Lyle Trachtenberg, an IATSE union organizer, on October 1, 1994. However, only after a year of marriage, they finalized their divorce in October 1995. They never shared any children.

Although she never opened up about how she met Lyle, they allegedly met through common on-screen interest. The 5 feet 6 inches tall California native formerly worked as an actor.

Time and again, the 65-year-old Ghost actress has commented her incompetence to commitment as the reason for divorce. However, in an interview with The New York Times Magazine in 2019, she clearly stated that the failed marriage ‘was not Lyle’s fault.’ She told:

Out of 3 marriages, Goldberg, who played Guinan in Star Trek: The Next Generation, welcomed her only child with her first husband, Alvin Martin. As for a fact, her then-husband Alvin is her former drug counselor; she was formerly a “functioning” drug addict.

The duo married in 1973 and welcomed their daughter Alex’s daughter in May that year. At that time, Whoopi was only 18 years old. But they divorced in 1979- the longest-ever marriage of Goldberg.

Later, she exchanged vows with her second spouse David Claessen, a cinematographer in 1986, but called quits after two years.

As per her LinkedIn profile, Belan works as a producer for Cline Agency Insurance Brokers since May 2006. She graduated with a BA from the University of Western Ontario (1992- 1996) and later obtained a degree in PR Management from McGill University in 1998.

The two have kept their wedding details pretty low but are allegedly together for decades. Together, the couple shares two daughters: Gabriella and Natasha. The family of four lives in Los Angeles, California.
