The smoker has a Bluetooth symbol on it, please let me use it for more than just setup. The app should work without wifi when I'm in range of Bluetooth.
Look this app is pretty handy when finally starts working. HOWEVER, Bluetooth isn't connecting when the 800 series grill is started and Im left spending several minutes trying to resolve the issue. Restarting the app. Turning off/on wifi and Bluetooth. Turning off the grill after it's already going. Masterbuilt provides absolutely ZERO directions on how to solve that because "its all done through the app" - which it's reliably not. Do better Masterbuilt! Expect better Masterbuilt.
latest firmware update killed my master built 710. it was bad before getting to temp and holding temp. now it won't even get to 275F. pass on this product. 2 years old and going to the scrapper. buyer beware.
never can find wifi
used to be great and still love the grill, but i can't connect to wifi. the grill connects to my device just fine, but then when i enter the confirmed PW for my wifi, it never connects. it finds the network, but doesn't connect. frustrating. I've contacted customer service as directed as I'm still unable to connect here on the 4th of July. frustrating. case 990501 downloaded the classic app and it connected just fine. we'll try to use that app for this cook.
Doesn't allow reconnection. once you move out of range the app never reconnects unless you erase and pair again losing all the data. it's very inconvenient and makes the app useless.

Perfect results, everytime!
The app works pretty well but is missing a few features. I wish it had better notifications for temperature reached and I wish it had a notification for a low temperature condition. When the grill is set to 225 and it is 210, I need to know about it. It's 2 years later and none of those features are a thing. I don't think the app has changed at all tbh.
It can be temperamental, but overall works okay for me.
