Soon as I posted my review, tried diff app: also failed imports. Searched, found solution, wasn't this app's fault--although this app still failed to import 156+ messages after fix..?? Upping the rating, good start to an app, but still has add'l glitches to work out: click conv = shows last-conv-clicked for 2-4 seconds, or jumps around in conv initially. App didn't see/flag unreads from original app (diff app did). Duplicated most imports (diff app didn't). Dark-mode cursor nearly invisible.
While this is close to Samsung Messages which is now gone, I really dislike the fact that messages moved to specific folders still remain duplicated in the ALL folder. What is the point of me moving important messages to my own folders if I cannot sort them out of the remaing pile of other messages that are sitting in ALL that are not as important? They are not really moving, but rather copying. The system Personal Folder has no idea what I consider personal either - seems to be a bad idea.
About the only workable Samsung Messages replacement I can find. 💙 I purchased the full version. Here are some main issues I have so far to be fixed: 1) When you have more than 3-4 folders (Ex, categories), and you select a conversation and use the "Move to folder" function, you cannot scroll the folder list to select those at bottom. 2) The middle divider needs to be adjustable from left to right to allow more space on one side when needed. 3) Folders re-ordering need to be in settings also.
really want this to work, but my imported messages are all screwed up. it says the name of one contact but texts another. my imported group chats specifically are all over the place. what would normally be 1 group chat shows some of the messages going to old group chats. it's a mess. I really don't want to use Google messenger, but this is a mess. I tried deleting all the group messages with those individuals, and now their texts are coming as individual texts from each person.
love that this app is focused on organization and privacy. The one thing I wish it had was customization. I miss being able to set a photo for each chats background and bubble color as well as a default for the ones I didnt customize yet and the home page for it.
Really enjoying the app! Feels very reminiscent of the old way messages used to look for me on my older devices. Only issue for me is the lack of customizing each one of my contacts with their own backgrounds or making the messages as transparent or solid as I wanted to. Sadly I think that is done with now since Samsung messages is gone, but I wish I had something like that here, maybe a future update? Just a thought! I know other apps have better customizing but I love the privacy of this more.
Looks great so far! I'm missing my texts from the last 3 days after importing but it's not a huge issue for me, I'll just keep trying to import them until it actually works. The only thing I'm not sure on is if support group texts? I'm in several group chats for a variety of things/reasons and none of those have gotten transferred. If I'm missing something obvious for that it'd be great if someone could point me in the right direction

changed to 5* ....dev has been responsive fixed minor bugs and added new features..doing a grreat job
100% happy with ZenSMS. Privacy protection is paramount to me and ZenSMS provides me peace of mind that messages aren't read by super-mega-colossal corporations to enhance their sales opportunities. Really is a great app. to be fair, there are some quirks but nothing that's a show stopper. developer is very responsive to questions and issues.
