There was a time when the news was exactly just that. Over the last couple of decades the news has gotten horribly political, especially in the US where as an expat Brit here I cannot abide watching it. Its either left wing bias or right wing bias. no news, just opinion. Thankfully there are still the likes of Reuters & the BBC. Reuters is probably the most neutral (therefore, ACTUAL REAL NEWS) group there is. This is for those who want just the facts told straight & not political opinion.
