poorly designed app. sign ins required every few days. comments never load and keep showing the loading state. many a times the app says offline while I'm on wifi.

Half the articles open in a within-app browser so you need to log in fresh every second article or so just to read. I guess they want to make reading a high friction activity for subscribers.

The app goes back and forth with its web app, which does not have a dark mode. switching between totally dark and totally light when you're trying to read in bed is like whiplash. Dark mode is not a difficult thing to accomplish, especially in a web app. it's one of the easiest things you can implement. I don't get it.

The newspaper is good, the app is terrible. Half the articles don't load, it regularly logs me out, it constantly says I'm offline when I have strong service.

I have been a paying subscriber for years, with recent updates I have to log in almost every time I open the app. When I choose the push news notifications, it brings me to a log in screen and then who wants to put in their login credentials every time they choose a news update notification? Something is wrong with the way the app handles logins and I really hope the developers can fix it - which is a shame because the content of WSJ is great journalism!

Suprisongly ineptly written compared to the NYT & WaPo apps. It forgets credentials every couple of days, and when you log back in, it thinks its a different device. So after a while, WSJ contacts you complaining about the large number of devices using you account. All when in fact, it's their phone app. Still does not support comments 99% of the time. Does not allow you to do anything account related.
