So far this seems like a genuinely thoughtful and well made Google News alternative. So far I like it a lot more than Google News, and love the content filters.

GNews posts more content under the same categories. But Kagi has a much cleaner UI.

When I left iOS and came to Android I struggled to find an Apple News replacement. Google News just takes you to the website and I wanted the clean reading mode Apple News gives you. This app finally gives me that. They need onboarding for selecting the categories you care about, article thumbnails, and more articles to scroll through. Premium news sources will be good, but assuming that will come with paid partnerships. Great start so far, hopefully a privacy respectful alternative to Google.

So far, I like this a lot. It's tailorable, concise and easy to read. A widget would be good, but that's a minor inconvenience. Overall, a lot to like and nothing significant to whinge about.

I really liked the app and I encourage you to maintain your identity in other apps. The best thing about it is that it's not like other overwhelming apps and it's ad-free. Please consider adding some features like colors and news languages. Thank you:)
