New addition to review: subscription model has caused me to uninstall. The quality of news provided is not a worthy of a subscription. BBC has declined terribly. The App continues to be worse than the web. I pay for properly written news, I won't pay for the quality of BBC article now (which is a shame as I believe strongly in an independent national broadcaster).

It is a lot better these days content wise. Just a pity it became so slow on a fast Internet package. Too much Drump, too little real stuff. Love the sport coverage.

this USED 2 B my most trusted and reliable news source. unfortunately, the paywall has brought me 2 terminate my goto source. cannot afford having 2 pay 2 C. way 2 much of this 2day. uninstalling.

No point in installing it unless you are prepared to pay a subscription. Perhaps if you live in England you can actually view the articles without paying for them. Too bad if you're English, and living abroad or travelling. Forget it. Uninstalling. There are other news sources, fortunately. Like the Guardian.

Unfortunately, the app doesn't work on my new phone (fairphone 6, Android 16). I had it installed on all phones up to this point and can't imagine not having it, but after a couple of months and several installs it still won't open, showing me either a black or white screen and sometimes the bbc letters. The notifications, however, do function properly.

I have had this app for what seems 10 plus years. Cannot use anymore unless I want to shell out a stupid amount of money. Uninstalled, good luck with that BBC.
